Meet Our Team

  

Belinda Haebich

Veterinarian (BVSc (hons))

Dr Belinda is a Sydney University graduate but Torquay local. She joined our team in early 2008 and became a director in 2011.  She has impressive general practice skills and a special interest in feline medicine. 

Belinda is the mother of PoPo (pictured) as well as a gorgeous Burmie and two big brown dogs.


Jack Ayerbe

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Not only is he a well-known radio personality, discussing all things pets on 3AW, Bay FM and Pulse FM, he is also the author of "To Ballina and Back".

Jane Miller

Veterinarian (BSc, BVSc (hons))

Jane has returned to work part time after becoming a mum to Harriet and now William.  She became and director of NVC in 2011.

 Jane is still involved in the trials for an anti cancer compound called EBC 46

She has Angus the Westie and two guinea pigs called Rosie and Robbie.


Katie Stoeckel

Veterinarian (BVSc (hons))

After many years working in a small animal practice in Melbourne, Katie became one of the directors of Newtown Vet Clinic in 2011.  She has quickly become a client (and animal) favourite due to her kind and gentle nature.  Katie has a love and a genuine talent in small animal orthopeadics.  Katie is also mum to beautiful Ella.

 


Kate Chambers

Veterinarian (BVSc (hons))

Kate Chambers has been an invaluable member of the  Newtown Team for two years now.  She is a well respected veterinarian and her genuine care and passion for animals is clear.  Kate is a Tasmanian girl who has made the leap across the Strait.  She is the proud mum of Sadie the Golden Retriever and Mable the Burmese X cat,  and now gorgeous little Isobel.


Vicki Tomes

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Vicki grew up in Geelong but studied in QLD, graduating from the University of Queensland in 2005.

Vicki has worked with horses for most of her career to date.  After becoming a mum to Matilda and Jack, she made the decision to have a ‘career change’ and shift from working with horses to small animals.

Newtown Veterinary Clinic has been lucky to welcome Vicki to the team where she has been loving the challenge of being a small animal veterinarian.

Her pets include Bear the Bull Mastiff, Lily the Rhodesian Rideback, Spooky the Cat, and the chooks – Dr Who, Amy and Rose. 

 


Sarah Patullo

Veterinarian (BVSc (hons) MANZCVS (SAS))

Dr Sarah has joined our team and we are thrilled to have a membership qualified surgeon join our team.  She graduated from Melbourne University in 2007 and has worked all around Australia. She is a talented horse rider and the proud owner of 2 dogs, 2 horses and Gary the goat.  Sarah has a special interest in orthopedics but is a great all round veterinarian.


Anna Jowett

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in veterinary nursing)

Anna is a very friendly and knowledable nurse.  She runs our "pet slimmers" weight loss program.  If your pooch needs to shape up then give Anna a call.


Karen Pollock

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. )

Karen is a very important member of our nursing team.  Karen is an excellent veterinary nurse who brings great skills and a big smile to work every day.   She is the owner of Milo the cat (pictured).  Karen is also our dedicated Head of Back of House.  She makes sure everything works like clockwork.  In her spare time Karen can be found doing further study to increase her already impressive skills and knowlege base


Kate Kirkovski

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in veterinary nursingDiploma in veterinary nursing (Dental))

Kate, pictured here with "Duke", holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing with many years’ experience, including the University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital.

Kate is also the first Vet Nurse in Victoria to study for her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Dental) -

Tania Babic

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in veterinary nursing)

Tania has been a veterinary nurse for many years.  She is a wonderful source of information and happy to help answer any animal questions you may have.  She is friendly and always happy to help.  Tania coordinates our Puppy School Program

 


Carley Martin

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Carley is back at the clinic and working part time.  She is a wonderful mother to her son Jimi and Eliza.  Carley brings that caring nature into the clinic to help care for the animals.


Alex Haintz

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV nursing)

Alex is an enthusiastic and passionate nurse.  She is very hands on with the patients and the animals.  When not in the clinic she can often be found attending veterinary industry seminars and training days to increase her already impressive knowlege base.  Alex is a fully qualified Veterinary nurse and has recently completed a pathology further education course.  She is the mum to two crazy dogs and a very tolerant cat.  Watch out for her smiling face and helpful "can do" attitude.  Alex has just started a University degree in Veterinary Nursing (a new degree course to Australia!)


Alison Shadforth

Receptionist

Alison is Newtown Veterinary Clinics first every dedicated Receptionist and now we have no idea how we coped without her!  She runs our "ship" like a skillful captain and her warm and engaging personality will ensure you leave our clinic feeling well looked after. 


Annie Kennedy

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in veterinary Nursing)

Annie is a fully qualified veterinary nurse.  She spent many years coordinating a clinic in the Pilbra WA and has brought her organisational skills to NVC.  She is often found sitting at the front desk and will be able to assist you with your needs.

Annie is mum to a large Ridgeback dog called Raf


Karryn Misso

Veterinary Nurse

Karryn is a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse.  She started with us as trainee and is now working as a qualifed member of the team.  Her bubbly personality and technology skills are a big asset to our team.  Karryn can be found at the clinic most days working either front of house to help you or back of house caring for your pets.


Maria Verning

Veterinary Nurse (BAppScCertificate IV veterinary nursing)

With a back ground in human oncology as well as being a qualified Vet Nurse, Maria is a highly skilled addition to our team.  Maria is mum to one human, one feline and one canine baby.

 


Ella German

Veterinary Nurse (Holds Cert IV in Veterinary Nurse. Holds Certificate II in animals studies)

Ella is a passionate dog and cat owner.  She is very interested in animal welfare and has worked out at GAWS for a year.  Ella is a bubbly and friendly team member and will go out of her way to make sure everyone who comes to the clinic (both human and animal) is looked after.  You may find Ella walking her dog along one of the areas many beaches on the weekends.  Elle is also passionate about fitness and is a trainer at F45
