Cleaning you dogs ears

The environment inside your dog’s ears is very sensitive.  In most cases, a dog's ears are self-cleaning so cleaning is not necessary unless recommended to you by your vet.

If cleaning is necessary there are two products we suggest.  These are available from your vet:

Epi-otic

  • Alcohol free, so cleans ear canals without irritation.
  • Low pH, thus creating a hostile environment for bacteria and yeast.
  • The docusate sodium is a filming agent that leaves the canal dry, thus avoiding maceration.
  • Epi-otic has proven efficiency against staphylococcus intermedius and other ear pathogens.

Malacetic-otic

This particular cleaner is extremely effective against yeast infections.  It is also mildly acidic and thus an excellent drying agent.

  • It is a hypoallergenic product.
  • This is a great product to use after your dog has been swimming to remove water from the ears.
